Euler Hermes appoints new Chief Executive

Fabrice Desnos has been appointed Chief Executive of Euler Hermes UK Plc, part of the Allianz Group.

Fabrice has been with Euler Hermes for more than 10 years, initially in Euler Hermes SFAC, where he headed the Financial Control Department. In September 2000, he was appointed Group Financial Controller of Euler Hermes SA. He moved to London in January 2003, when he became Director of Finance for Euler Hermes UK.

For the past five years he has been working closely with Richard Webster, the outgoing CEO whom he now succeeds, responsible for all of the accounting and finance functions of the business, as well as re-insurance, risk management, actuarial and facilities. After five successful years at Euler Hermes UK, Richard Webster has moved on to pursue other interests within the financial community.

“The key priority is to continue the excellent work that Richard and the team have started, and to sustain growth in the context of a more challenging economic environment,” Fabrice says.

“Our strategy is to evolve Euler Hermes UK into being the major provider of credit management solutions in the UK and Ireland, at the heart of which are credit insurance, bonding, debt collection and risk information services. We have shared and owned this strategy for the past few years, and want to build on our success and promote the unrivalled knowledge and expertise of trade credit risks to our customers.”

Fabrice originally graduated with a degree in Engineering from the École centrale de Lyon, before joining the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris to study Economics and Finance. He is married with three children and lives in London.
